LEXINGTON, Va. (November 5, 2019) Lesley Pelka of Raphine was voted to have the “scariest carpet” in Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County in a recent photo contest hosted by Rockbridge Flooring Professionals, LLC of Lexington.

Four entries were received for the “Scariest Carpet Contest” between October 13 and October 20, 2019 and more than 200 votes were cast to arrive at a winner on Halloween, October 31. Entrants were homeowners in Lexington, Buena Vista, and Raphine.

“We were pleased to see entries spanning the county,” said James Higgins, owner of Rockbridge Flooring Professionals, LLC. “Mrs. Pelka really got behind her entry and drummed up the social media support of family and friends to make sure she’d win new carpet for her home. She has already chosen her Mohawk carpet and we plan to install it before Thanksgiving.”

Pelka described her existing carpet as “1979 worn out shag … that has permanent fuel oil stains along baseboards.” One of her primary concerns with the old carpet is allergies. She said, “the backing and padding have long since crumbled below and it fills the vacuum canister every time we vacuum. It’s terrible for allergies.”

Rockbridge Flooring Professionals, LLC is locally owned and operated by James W. Higgins and located at 637A Waddell Street in Lexington, Virginia.
